Competency aims
The aim of the course is to introduce, define and
critically analyse several key elements central to
understanding the media, culture and society, both
at the individual and the collective level.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is
expected to be able to define and critically
evaluate the media, culture and society as (1)
individual concepts, and (2) entities capable
of exerting influence in the public sphere.
Students should be able to apply this knowledge
to contemporary examples in order to carefully
evaluate how social, economic and political
events are communicated and mediated.
