Spillveckan 2025

Finnish households throw around 137 million kilos of food per year. Totally around 400 million kilos of food is thrown in Finland every year. Food Waste Week was first organised in 2013.

Food waste is edible food that for some reason ends up in the bin instead of being eaten.

It occurs at all levels of the food chain, but especially in households (39%).

Help us reduce food waste at the Arcada restaurant

Arcada participates in the Food Waste Week as part of the Green Office programme. The restaurant at campus continuously monitors food waste throughout the year to raise awareness.

Would you like to help reduce the amount of food that otherwise ends up in the bin? If there is any leftover lunch, you can buy a takeaway box from the restaurant at 12:55 Mon-Fri. A 750 ml food box costs 4 euros.
