Arcada University of Applied Sciences arranges graduation ceremonies twice a year. Remember to register in time!
Time and place
The first graduation ceremony for the Academic Year 2025-2026 is held 16 January 2026 at 15:00 (for those who have applied for their degree certificate and registered for the ceremony by 31.12.2025) and 12 June 2026 at 15:00 (for those who have applied for their degree certificate and registered for the ceremony by 3.6.2026). As a graduate you need to be at Arcada 30 minutes before the ceremony starts.
Invitation and r.s.v.p.
You register for your graduation ceremony at the same time as you apply for your degree certificate in Sisu. In order to participate in the ceremony, you need to submit both your degree certificate application and the separate event registration by the deadline. You will find the link for the event registration in the degree certificate application form.
All graduates who have signed up for the ceremony will receive their instruction email three days prior to the event.
Graduation procession
All graduates are requested to be at Arcada no later than 14:30, where we will help you find your correct place. The ceremony begins with an official procession train, lead by the Rector.
Dresscode
Business casual.
The tradition of wearing a cap and gown does not apply to the higher education level, and for this reason Arcada does not offer any contact to companies for orders/supplies. You are, of course, allowed to bring your own cap and wear it during the ceremony, if this is something you want to do.
Programme
No degree certificates are handed out during the graduation ceremony, but all graduates are given roses, a greeting letter and are congratulated by the Rector and a representant for your degree programme. The ceremony takes approx. one hour. After the ceremony all graduates, guests and staff join in a toast for our newest alumni. Photographing will be arranged for those who wish.
Guests
As a graduate you are welcome to invite one guest to attend the ceremony. Unfortunately the number is limited due to the amount of seats available on campus. Please confirm your guest's attendance when you confirm your own participation in the ceremony.
Please note that no guest parking is available. We highly recommend arriving by public transport, as the public parking spaces in the area are very limited.
