The real estate company Arcada Nova is renting the residential building Majstrandsgården to Folkhälsan for a period of two years from 1 August 2026. At the same time, the building will be adapted so that it can also function as an assisted living facility for the elderly. Students living in the building will be offered alternative accommodation.
Arcada Nova will rent out Majstrandsgården to Folkhälsan until the end of May 2028. The agreement comes into effect on 1 August. The Folkhälsan building in Brunakärr is due to undergo renovation, and during this period Seniorhemmet, a 24-hour assisted living facility, will require temporary evacuation premises. Majstrandsgården is owned 40% by Folkhälsan and 60% by the real estate company Arcada Nova.
Students currently residing in the building will be offered alternative accommodation on campus. They will be contacted by Arcada Nova to find suitable housing solutions.
There is already a shared ambition on the part of both Folkhälsan and Arcada UAS to strengthen our cooperation. A joint review to identify synergies between Arcada’s degree programmes and the assisted living facility will begin shortly.
