Do you need warm clothes for the cold winter season?

Hello new international students!

I am Sonja Jakobsson, University Chaplain in Helsinki. To all new students, I want to wish you a warm welcome to Finland.

You have come to a beautiful country that has a severe climate during many months of the year. Temperatures can fall below -20'C. To get through this beautiful but cold period, you need a warm jacket and outerwear pants, both with thick lining. Moreover you need boots with heat retention, a cap, a scarf and thick gloves.

I extend to you a warm welcome to a free of charge winter clothes giveaway at the headquarters of the Church of Helsinki at Kolmas Linja 22 (Kallio).

The dates for the pick-up event will be announced in my WhatsApp group, so please sign up at +358-50-3800662. In the group I also post all kinds of relevant information for you as foreign students, ranging from current job offers to food aid, when available.

Wishing you a joyful time in Finland!

Kindly yours,
Sonja Jakobsson
University Chaplain
