We moved into our Arcada building during the autumn of 2004. It was built for us and our specific needs, as a part of our campus. The building is owned by Fastighets Ab Arcada Nova. On the central indoor squares there is a student cafeteria and open spaces where everyone can meet up.

Opening hours for the Arcada building (public holidays don’t affect the opening hours):

weekdays at 7.00-21.00 (you can enter with your own mobile key until 20.30).

weekends at 9.00-17.00, limited access (you can enter with your own mobile key until 16.30).

With it’s 16 000m2, three bright squares and innovative learning environments the campus has been designed to create inspiring and efficient working environments for both staff and students. The Arcada campus is located about 15 minutes from the centre of Helsinki near good traffic connections. The Arcada building is owned by Fastighets Ab Arcada Nova, which also owns Prakticum next to Arcada, accommodation for students External link and the student Cor-house External link. The newest addition to the Arcada campus is the sports hall External link.

As a student at Arcada, you can get your own mobile key (via an app) that you are personally responsible for. During weekends, you can enter and exit Arcada with your mobile key only through the door on the right side of the two main entrances.

Brief presentation of our spaces:

Arcada University of Applied Sciences has many spaces to support your studies and social activities. Below you will find a list of our different spaces (within brackets in which block and on which floor the space is located). Below you will also find the link to our virtual tour of the Arcada building:

  1. Classrooms and computer classrooms. We have both bigger and smaller classrooms for our lectures (mainly found in A3, B3, D3, E3, F3 and D4). If the classroom is available, you can also use it for studies or group work.
  2. Our different environments:
  • Arcada Entrepreneurship Hub (A4). The purpose of our hub is to enhance entrepreneurship and encourage new and innovative business ideas.
  • Arcada Sustainability and Tech Lab (B2) is a production lab that simulates a factory in miniature format. Here you can practice the whole process from material knowledge and product planning to finally producing plastic products.
  • Arcada AI and Human Interaction Hub (F3) is a hub where future digital solutions are developed, tested and demonstrated to make them safe, accessible and understandable to all.
  • Arcada Health Tech Hub (AHTH) (D2) is a learning and research environment where health tech solutions are developed and used as support for social and health services in Finland. Here you will find a simulation room to learn new technical solutions for people with hearing, visual or physical impairments.
  • Arcada Patient Safety and Learning Centre (APSLC) (E4) is a safe environment for practicing health care, medical care, leadership and communication skills.
  • Arcada Studios (A2). In our multihall we have a fully equipped studio with the possibility to practice how to work with lighting, sound and how to record regular films. In the sound studio, you can have entire music bands and mix the music directly in the control room.
  1. Library (C2) is a space where you can read, study and borrow books. You also find group rooms in the library.
  2. Group rooms are situated in different blocks (mainly in D3, E3, A4 and D4) and are spaces where you can study either individually or in groups.
  3. On our Big Square, Small Square and Chat Square (2 floor) you can eat or just socialise. The restaurant and café Arcada are also situated on the second floor.
  4. In the silent room (D4) you can find a small room where you can relax, meditate or pray.
