To make sure your Teams meeting works as smoothly as possible, check the following before your class or webinar starts.
1. Use the Teams desktop app
We recommend using the Microsoft Teams desktop app whenever possible.
- Download Microsoft Teams (sign in with your Arcada account and select Get the desktop app from the dotted menu in the right upper corner)
- Make sure you are using the latest version of Teams. In Teams, go to Settings and more (…) → Settings → About Teams to check your version and available updates.
2. Use the correct account
Sign in to Microsoft Teams with your Arcada account.
Before joining the meeting, make sure your Arcada account is selected. If you have several Microsoft accounts, Teams may otherwise use the wrong one.
3. Before the meeting
A few minutes before the meeting:
- Restart your computer.
- Close programs you do not need during the meeting.
- Make sure Teams is signed in with your Arcada account.
- Use a headset if available.
- If your internet connection is slow or unstable, turn off your camera.
Joining from another country?
If you are taking part in teaching from abroad, we strongly recommend using the Teams desktop app. In this case, you can join all activities in the meeting.
- Download Microsoft Teams .
- Sign in with your Arcada account before opening the meeting link.
- Check that the correct account is shown in Teams.
- Restart your computer before the class.
- Close programs you do not need.
- If your internet connection is poor, turn off your camera.
