Practical training is an essential part of the Nursing TopUp programme, providing students with the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge and develop practical nursing skills in real healthcare settings. Students complete their practical training in different healthcare environments, gaining experience in community care, hospital care, and other areas of nursing practice.
Practical training is a central component within the Nursing TopUp programme. The mandatory clinical practices in the curriculum are designed to fulfil EU and Finnish legal requirements for nursing registration.
General information about practical training within Health Care or Health and Welfare is found under the section on Practical training, please read it carefully.
Once you have registered for the clinical practice courses in the student administrative system Sisu you will get access to the practical training course in the learning management system (Canvas or ItsLearning). This is where you will find all the relevant information about clinical practices. Registration for the clinical practices in Sisu is valid for one academic year at a time so you must re-register in August every year.
All practical trainings are booked through the national booking system Jobiili. Communication between Arcada, the student and the clinical practice placement also takes place on Jobiili. All reporting and evaluation is done through Workseed.
