On this page you can find information on how to activate your student card app and some of the discounts that you are entitled to as a student at Arcada.
Student card – all student benefits in one place
Arcada's students can activate a national student card for free in the Tuudo app. You can download Tuudo from Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS). When you have completed the installation and opened the app, choose Arcada from the list of universities. Then, log in with your Arcada account. You only have to log in the first time. The student card can be found in the menu of the Tuudo app (card symbol next to your name). For more information about Tuudo's student card, please visit Tuudo's homepage .
By becoming an ASK student union member you will also have access to several student discounts (museums, restaurants, cafés, stores etc.). Apply for your student card from the student union by visiting their homepage .
Discounts on student lunch and public transport are some of the main student benefits, but other places might give you student discounts as well, so do not forget to ask.
Student lunch
If you have a valid student card app you are entitled to eat a state subsidized lunch at any student lunch restaurant in Finland. If you do not have a student card app, contact the International Student Advisor to get a stamped KELA meal subsidy card, which also entitles you to the lunch discount.

Transport discounts
HSL public transport in Helsinki metropolitan area
As a full-time student living in Helsinki you have the right to a 40% discount on HSL season tickets (i.e. 14-day or 30-day tickets). You can activate the discount in the HSL app but for this to work you must have Finnish online identification credentials (e.g. a Finnish online banking log-in) and Arcada must have your Finnish personal identity code (henkilötunnus) in our system, use this form to submit your identity code if necessary. If you're not able to use the app, then you can get a paper form from the International Student Advisor that entitles you to activate the discount on the HSL travel card at an HSL Service Point.
VR trains and Matkahuolto buses
If you have a valid student card app you can also get student discount on long-distance public transport such as VR Trains and Matkahuolto buses .
