To work in a social welfare or health care profession in Finland, you must usually have a licence granted by the Finnish Supervisory Agency. If you have questions regarding the application process, please contact the Finnish Supervisory Agency . Please note that the license was formerly granted by Valvira. However, Valvira' s tasks have been transferred to the new Finnish Supervisory Agency starting from 1 January 2026.

This is to be done once you have completed your degree and the completion is registered in the national VIRTA or KOSKI education and training data service. You can check if your degree is registered by logging in to the National education and training data service (KOSKI) . If your degree is not yet registered in KOSKI, please wait until you have received your degree certificate before contacting us in this matter.
