How to get official Transcript or Study Certificate

Official Study certificates and Transcript of Records with an electronic signature can be downloaded via Sisu.

Study certificate is a certificate of attendance or non-attendance: study certificate does not contain completed studies.

• To form a certificate of study, go into Sisu, click on” My Profile” --> ”Study rights” --> ”Form a certificate of student status” (see picture)

• Select the language you want the certificate in and click ”Form” and Sisu will create a pdf file for you. Once the file has been created you can download it.

Transcript of records provides proof of the studies you completed during your current Degree Programme.

• To order a transcript of records go into Sisu, click on” My profile” --> ”Completed credits” --> ”Form transcript” (see picture)

• If you have several study rights you can choose if you want all your completed credits or just the credits that belong to one of your study rights on your transcript. You should also select which language you want the transcript in. When you’ve made your choices and pressed ”Form”, Sisu will create a pdf file for you. Once the file has been created you can download it.

If an electronic signature isn’t enough and you need a certificate/transcript with a physical signature and stamp you should instead email Student Affairs (studentaffairs@arcada.fi).

The Kela Meal Subsidy Card and discount ticket applications for HSL (local transport) can be requested from Student Affairs. Please note! You do not need any discount ticket applications if you have a student card! We also recommend that you use the HSL app!

Certified copies of degrees and other certificates

We also provide former students with various documents and certified copies of degree certificates. Order documents via studentaffairs@arcada.fi. Please note! Due to restructuring of services at Arcada, we are experiencing long processing times for requests for certificates and certified copies!

Only documents awarded by Arcada can be attested or certified. We cannot attest documents awarded by other institutions. In addition, only copies that are taken by Arcada can be attested or certified. You may therefore bring only your original Degree Certificate. Copies you have taken yourself will not be attested or certified.

Translation of degree certificates

Arcada does not translate degree certificates. Please be in contact with an authorized translator in order for your documents to be translated.

Certificates for alumni's graduated from the educational institutions from which Arcada originates

Arcada University of Applied Sciences was established in 1996 in Helsinki as a merger from the following educational institutions:

• the Helsinki Swedish College of Nursing (Helsingfors svenska sjukvårdsinstitut)
• the Swedish Commercial College (Svenska handelsläroverket)
• the Swedish Institute of Technology (Tekniska Läroverket)
• the Folkhälsan Institute of Social Education (Folkhälsans socialläroanstalt)

Please note that copies of Degree Certificates awarded by these institutions are not generated by Arcada UAS anymore. However, certificates regarding the graduation date are issued if the documentation in our archives is sufficient enough (according to the President's Decision 9/2015/P). You cannot receive fee-based documents before making and demonstrating payment of the requested document.

In addition, all documentation regarding Helsinki Swedish College of Nursing (including possible copies of Degree Certificates) are to be found in the National Archives Service of Finland (Kansallisarkisto).

Third party needing to verify your degree

If a third party (example: another university, a possible employer or a degree verification agency) needs to receive information about your degree at Arcada, please note the following. Arcada can verify the title of your degree, your graduation date and whether or not you have graduated. This can be done via e-mail directly in communication with the third party; they can send an e-mail to studentaffairs@arcada.fi. If a third party needs any other or more information, then you as our former student need to be the one contacting us via studentaffairs@arcada.fi. This is to ensure the data security, in accordance with GDPR. Even if you have signed a consent form stating that a third party may access your information, Arcada may still contact you and require payment for the verification service.
