Lotta Eronen, Doctoral Researcher | Senior Lecturer | Master of Health Care | Registered Nurse
Passionate about enhancing nursing competencies and education. Currently a Doctoral Researcher at Åbo Akademi University. My research is focusing on the clinical competence of registered nurses from a Nordic perspective.
My career in healthcare began as a Registered Nurse, continuing with a Master of Health Care in Advanced Clinical Care and pedagogical studies.
Education & Research
In my current role as a Doctoral Researcher, I am involved in Nordic Nurse Competence Study, a Nordic collaboration focusing on the future of nursing competence development. Additionally, I work as a Senior Lecturer in Nursing teaching the next generation of nursing professionals through International Nursing programs.
At Arcada UAS, I am an active participant in the multi-professional research project "Comprehending Compassion", aiming to create more compassionate working environments and mentor students to become compassion ambassadors in their careers.
Together with my colleague we are running the Beds2Bytes project, on virtual wards. The project is both a development and a research project focusing on the competence development of healthcare professionals in virtual care from a patiencentered perspective.
Clinical Expertise
With a decade of clinical experience in surgical- and perioperative nursing, my Master's Thesis focused on developing patient safety through incident reporting tools. Mainly focusing on change, development, and no-blame environments for developing patient safety.
Areas of Interest
I am interested in nurses clinical competencies, nursing education & future competencies, nursing leadership, compassion at work, and promoting the well-being and career development of both students and professionals in the field of Healthcare.
