? Knowledge - Comprehensive, specialized, factual and theoretical knowledge in the field of the political economy of the media and an awareness of the boundaries of that knowledge.
Innehåll
Political economy is a distinctive approach to the social world, which looks at the material, and immaterial factors, the processes and the relations among the social actors involved in the competition for the control over the distribution of values in society. The political economy of the media is the approach that looks at these factors, processes and relations as far as the media are concerned. In this course, the students will engage with the critical tradition of the political economy of the media, a relatively new but already established approach with roots in critical social theory and normative theory.
In this course, students will learn about the dynamic dimension of media management or the interplay of social forces supporting change and continuity in the media industry.
