Kompetensmål

After completion of the course students will be
able to develop internationalisation strategies for small- and medium sized companies and actively support businesses to enter foreign markets

Läranderesultat

At the end of the course the student will have
an understanding of drivers and barriers to
internationalisation. He/She can compare
different market entry modes and analyze their
pros and cons especially in a Nordic-Baltic context. The
student will be able to create a plan for a small
enterprise to reach an international market.

Innehåll

- The concept of international business
strategies; alternative approaches
- Drivers and barriers to SME
internationalisation
- Internationalisation modes
- Marketing strategies
- Business case development
- An internationalisation project, where teams
work with different real-life assignments to support the
internationalisation of SMEs. Hence, a part of
the course is slightly different for different
course participants.

The course is mainly delivered online with only three compulsory classroom sessions (course introduction 24.10, mid-term meeting 21.11, final reporting 19.12).
