Kompetensmål
The aim of the course is that the student increases her/his vision of social and health care on a macro-, meso- and micro level, as a part of social politics, how it is implemented locally, and how it effects everyday life. The student develops skills to critically examine, interpret and present data according to scientific principles and learns how to argue for his/her conclusions. In addition, the student prepares to use national and international research in the work place as an innovative leader within the social and health care fields.
Läranderesultat
At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to;
- independently, but with supervision, write a thesis work
- present and argue for the findings in his/her thesis work
- critically examine and be an opponent for another students thesis work
- pass the maturity test

Scientific thinking and the research process. Thesis work, working process and supervision. Thesis seminars, presenting a thesis and being an opponent to a thesis work.

Mer information
All students should attend at least 10 thesis seminars (Each student shall present his/her own thesis plan and final work work and be an opponent. ( = included in the total of 10 seminars. The opponent hands in her/his work in writing. )
Keeping a list of attendance in seminars is the responsibility of each student. A thesis pass is available and it should be signed by a lecturer after the seminar.

Examinationskrav
- During the course Scientific theory, research methods and research ethics 2 the student presents her/his thesis idea. When the idea is accepted the student gets a supervisor.
- The student develops her/his thesis project and presents her/his thesis plan on a thesis plan seminar. These seminars are joint seminars with Swedish speaking programmes.
- Students attend at least 12 thesis seminars (from the course 06, earlier courses 10 seminars) From these seminars at least 3 should be from another programme. Students hand in a list (thesis passport) signed by the teachers in charge of the seminar.
- A completed and accomplished thesis according to the guidelines
- Thesis presentation
- The student has to be an opponent
- Maturity test
