Kompetensmål

The student is expected to be able to produce parts by 3D printing and to understand the possibilities for product development in the new world of 3D printing.

Läranderesultat

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to:

Use a mobile phone for 3D scanning of parts.

Print parts using a MakerBot 3D printers.

Use Meshmixer for preparing scanned photos for 3D printing.

Participate in group work with other students in the development of a product for 3D Printing.

Produce high quality essays.

Essay based on "Fabricated - The New World of 3D Printing" found in Ebook Central in Libguides.

Förkunskaper

Solid Modelling.

Students are required to model parts for 3D printing using SolidWorks or a similar 3D CAD software.

Mer information

The student is required to sign up to a group for the poster presentation within the first week of class and to participate in group work.
