At the end of the course the student is
expected to
- understand the finance perspective on
organizations as opposed to the accounting
perspective
- be able to prepare financial calculations to
support decision-making
- understand the functioning of financial
markets and their effect on organizations
- be able to analyze pros and cons of different
financing alternatives
- understand current events on the financial
markets

The aim of the course is to give a detailed
understanding of financial tools for decision
making in organizations.

Discounting cash flows
The financial markets and main instrument types
Interest rates and currencies
Cost of capital and funding alternatives

The group assignment gives 40 points.
The individual assignment gives 40 points.
Attendance at lectures gives 10 points.
Presentation gives 10 points.
Groups are assigned by the teacher.
Copy-pasting or other forms of plagiarism will
lead to failure in the course.
Grade given for an assignment cannot be improved
on, but a failed report can be resubmitted.
Missing the deadline will reduce grade by 1.
