Several cases of coronavirus infections (COVID-19) have been detected at Arcada University of Applied Sciences during the past week. People who have been exposed in close contact have been contacted by the City of Helsinki's Epidemiological Operations Unit and placed in quarantine.
In accordance with the government’s decision, the campus will remain closed and your classes will continue online at least until 13.5. Students and staff do not have access to the building while campus is closed.
This year totally 144 students and staff (compared to 92 people last year) answered the WWF’s Consumer Habit questionnaire. After a few weeks we’ll get the result and we’ll get to know how good we are at saving the carbon dioxide emission and Arcada's ecological footprint.

Now students can get take away lunch (price with student card 2.60 €) from UniCafe Kaivopiha (Mannerheimintie 3) easily and safely, without close contact with the staff. The food is sold in packaged cold portions and taken home. There are two lunch options daily, one of which is vegan, and salad is included. The Coronavirus pandemic has complicated our lives in a multitude of ways. It has brought the financial world to its knees, with speculations of an impending global recession. Restaurants and other small business owners are losing their income and the question of "is someone going to be bankrupt?" has shifted towards "how many will be still running after this ends?".
