Due to the fact that Helsinki is still in the community transmission phase, and the general restrictions for the metropolitan area continue to apply, Arcada's instructions to prevent the spread of infection will continue to apply until 31.1. The goal of the restrictions is to avoid further spread of COVID-19 and a total closure of the campus.
Tutors are a group of students selected to ease the introduction of the academic year especially for first year students. Tutors help out with finding the way in Arcada, plan events and happenings, as well as helping out with student life in general.
Arcada Student Union - ASK educates the tutors during the spring so that they can work as tutors during the whole academic year 2021-2022. Doesn't matter if you are a first year or been at Arcada for a while already, anyone can apply.
On Monday 18 January 2021 at 1 p.m., you who are a culture or media student will get the chance to meet online representatives from YLE. This meet and greet session is part of My Future Work 2021. My Future Work is Arcada's annual recruiting event where students get to network and meet employers – this year via Zoom. This is an opportunity for you to meet up with a possible future employer and get a summer job or work practice.
From 1 January 2021, the Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) provides health care services for all students of universities of applied sciences. You now get access to a wider range of health care services than before, including mental health and dental care. By paying the health care fee to Kela, you are entitled to all services within FSHS - in several locations, online and by phone.
Students at Arcada have different options when it comes to going abroad and conducting part of their studies overseas. To study abroad is enriching for you as a student on both a professional and personal level. The experiences gained opens new doors and opportunities.

In last December, all degree students and students at the open university trail had the opportunity to participate in our survey covering several topics such as distance studies, study routines and coping, need for and access to support, social aspects and study motivation. The survey closed on December 28th and was a follow-up to the survey last spring, which we optimistically called "Corona in the rear-view mirror". The pandemic is still not behind us, but we hope that the vaccinations that have now started will eventually break the pandemic.
