It's time to start a new academic year together and we want to wish you all an inspiring and safe start to your studies! Arcada's campus is now open again and all services are available, such as the lunch restaurant, library and student support services.
We still ask you not to stay on campus unnecessarily long to avoid queues and larger crowds.
As planned, teaching and other learning activities in period 1 will be implemented as a combination of on-site and remote arrangements. The aim is to be able to offer as many activities as possible on campus in a safe way. For programmes in English, where some students haven't obtained their residence permit, teaching will be offered online to ensure a smooth start to the autumn semester.
Larger lectures will usually take place online, while teaching in smaller groups is conducted on campus. Check your own schedule for more information. Safety distances and hygiene are taken into account and we follow the current recommendations to be able to guarantee a safe study environment.
The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare has classified teaching situations as the lowest risk class for the spread of infection. This makes it possible to offer more on-site teaching.
For those unable to attend on campus due to restrictions imposed by the authorities, all compulsory lectures will be live streamed or alternative methods for completing the course will be available. Please contact your amanuensis for further information.
Your own actions play a crucial role and we ask everyone to follow the current safety instructions. On campus, we use face masks. If you do not have a mask of your own, it is possible to get one from the info.
We also remind you to wash your hands, keep a safe distance and to stay at home if you have any symptoms that may indicate coronavirus. We encourage all who can to get their vaccines as soon as possible.
