A person who visited Arcada University of Applied Sciences on the 26th of May have been found to be infected with the coronavirus. Individuals who might have been exposed in close contact have been personally notified and placed under quarantine by authorities.
The risk of infection for other people who were present at Arcada is low.
In any case, everyone should monitor their own condition during the pandemic. In the event of even the mildest COVID-19 symptoms, you should immediately get tested and stay home. Typical symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, headache, nausea, diarrhoea, muscle ache, a sore throat, a runny or stuffy nose, shortness of breath and the loss of sense of smell and taste.
Adults and young people over 16 who have personal online banking codes can book an appointment for a coronavirus test by completing the online coronavirus symptoms checkup at www.omaolo.fi.
Residents of Helsinki and guardians of underaged residents of Helsinki can also book an appointment for a coronavirus test by calling the Coronavirus Helpline, tel. 09 310 10024 (open every day 8–18). If the Coronavirus Helpline is closed and the symptoms indicative of a coronavirus infection are mild, please wait until the following day.
Residents of other Uusimaa municipalities can complete the symptom assessment survey and book an appointment online at https://koronabotti.hus.fi/en/.
Residents of non-Uusimaa municipalities must contact their local health care services for testing.
You can only return to Arcada's campus once you have tested negative for the coronavirus and no longer have symptoms.
