Several cases of coronavirus infections (COVID-19) have been detected at Arcada University of Applied Sciences during the past week. People who have been exposed in close contact have been contacted by the City of Helsinki's Epidemiological Operations Unit and placed in quarantine.

Students and staff who have visited Arcada's campus may have been exposed to a coronavirus infection and are advised to monitor their health very closely for the next two weeks and get tested immediately if symptoms occur, even mild ones, and stay at home awaiting results. Close contact, especially with the elderly and people in risk groups, is recommended to be avoided until a negative test result is achieved and the symptoms have passed. Using a face mask reduces the risk of infection in situations where it is not possible to ensure that safe distances are maintained.

Symptoms of coronavirus infection include fever, cough, headache, muscle pain, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath, loss of sense of smell or taste, nausea, diarrhea and abnormal fatigue.

You can assess your symptoms at The Omaolo-service provides instructions and advises you to book an appointment for a coronavirus test if necessary. Residents of the city of Helsinki also receive help from the coronavirus counseling service on 09310 10024 (every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Residents in other cities can contact the health service in their area if they experience symptoms of coronavirus. Please also report the positive result by telephone to Helsinki's Epidemiological Operations Unit.

We recommend that you use the Koronavilkku (Coronablinkern) application. It can be downloaded to your phone at The Koronavilkku app does not report exposure situations that occurred before installation. If you are using the Koronavilkku app and receive an exposure notification, please follow the instructions in the application.
