Study counselling, guidance and special pedagogical support
Arcada's counsellors offer individual support and guidance regarding, for example, study skills (planning, motivation, time and stress management), career guidance (uncertainty regarding study choices, future, life situation) and special pedagogical support (e.g. if you have dyslexia, adhd / add, mental health issues, vision or hearing impairment). You can contact school nurses by telephone or e-services. The city of Helsinki has created centralised healthcare services at Mechelininkatu that are available for all UAS students in Helsinki. You can visit them for e.g. urgent disease test and vaccinations, contraception or support in mental health issues, but you must always call them before your visit: +358503105547. Read more here.
If you want to contact Arcada's psychiatric nurse Viveka Eriksson, you can reach her via email@example.com or +35840 336 0188. You can meet her remotely or for a chat during a walk outdoors. The meetings are free of charge and confidential, just like Arcada's other support services.
You can access all e-material online 24/7, and the library staff is available via Zoom every Wednesday at 13–15 for help with eg. to find study material. The student chaplain (priest) is there for you if you want someone to talk to or if you, for example, are in quarantine and need help with anything practical.
