The aim of the course is that students have
knowledge of history
and trends in caring, care work and Nursing and
Caring science,
as well as knowledge of healthcare ethics and an
ability to
reflect on dilemmas of care based on the various
ethical choices
and decisions.

At the end of the course the student is expected
to have an understanding of the history of ideas
that lie behind
health and care work, as well as of idea patterns
that have
influenced Nursing and Caring science at
different times and in
different contexts; to understand the use of
methodology and
source criticism in researching history of ideas;
to reflect on the
fundamental values of Caring; to increase
awareness of their
own inner ethics.

contemporary thinkers.

Ethics: the caritative ethics basic categories -

Participation in tuition

To pass the course the student should pass the
following examinations:
Examination 1, group work and individual written
assignment
Examination 2, participation in group simulation
exercises
Examination 3, mandatory attendance at the
group's final
seminars

The course is assessed and graded on the basis of
performance
in the written data.
