Competency aims

This course helps the student to develope the
caring competence in childhealtcare and school-
and studenthealthcare and also enlarge the
competence of meeting clients in need of
special support.
The course offers the student an extended
knowledge on themes related to vaccines and
vaccination.

Learning outcomes

After this cource the student is expected to

  • guide parents in different healthissues and
    parenting
  • basic knowledge on pediatrics and youth
    medicine in out patient context
  • have an extended knowledge of vaccinations and
    be able to guide on issues related to
    vaccinations.
  • know the contents of school- and
    studenthealthcare
  • have insight in youthmedicine

Special issues in childhealthcare

  • differnt studie visits
    Neuvolapäivät, Socialpediatric seminar. ADHD-
    center.
  • reflective diary
  • lesson in pediatrics and youth medicine
  • extended course in vaccinations 1cr

School- and studenthealthcare

  • lectures
  • examination-assignment
  • lecture/training in assessment of body-
    posture
    is mandatory for practical training.

Additional information

Childhealth includes
different projects, study visits and special
seminars and a 100 % mandatory presence is
required. Absence has to be compensated as the
lecturer suggests.
