Competency aims

The aim of the course is to deepen the care of sick children and youth and builds on the basic knowledge from caring science.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to, together with children/youth and relatives, identify caring needs, observe and evaluate them in different stages of the cilds development and support the child/youth and relative
- make a care-plan, document, lead and evaluate given care and take inititive to and lead quality assurance work in caring
- by him-/herself evaluate , plan and promote health and prevent diseases
- inform and teach children/youth and relatives, collegues and students and promote cooperation with other professionals engaged in caring
- in the pediatric field participate in and to some degree by themselves perform examinations and tretments and give care in the end of life
- take responsibility for medical-technical equippment
- with a scientific approach work for knowledge development and a appropriate use of resources, initiate, lead and do developmental work and work for the change of experiences- and knowledge both nationally and internationally
