Competency aims
The aim of the course is that the student gets basic knowledge of the psychiatric health care system and understands the significance of preventive and promotive work.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to understand the system of psychiatric health care and understands the significance of preventive and promotive work. The student understands and is able to encounter patients with different kinds of mental problems, is able to support the patient´s health resources, apply ethical principles and utilise professional counselling.

Foundations of clinical nursing, basics of caring science, drug administration and dosage calculations.
