Competency aims

The aim of the course is to give the student
knowledge of the Finnish language on level
B1.2,
how
to use it in everyday situations and how to
improve the language skills independently.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is
expected
to be able to
on level B2 in CEFR cope in routine
situations
in
Finnish orally e.g.
present themselves and ask about the patient?s
health
improve their knowledge of the nursing
terminology
and the Finnish language independently
write short notes and recognize many of the
words
used in e.g. health care forms
form sentences and questions in the
present and past tense
tense both orally and in writing
understand the essential information in
texts, as fairly simple instructions and short
reports
(reading comprehension) and to
understand words and expressions in normal
speech
(listening comprehension).
