Competency aims
The aim of the course is to give the student basic
knowledge of the Swedish language and how to use
it in everyday situations
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is
expected to be able to
-discuss his/her studies, work and housing
using a simple language
-communicate orally in shop/café and restaurant
settings
-ask for directions and also give directions
-use the numerals 1-1000
-write simple messages
-tell an interlocutor about himself/herself,
his/her family and hobbies
talk about the weather/the days of the week/
the months of the year/the seasons of the year
-manage simple oral situations where health is
the issue
-to form simple declarative sentences and
questions in the present tense and the past
tense both orally and in writing
-understand simple texts and dialogues which
deal with everyday life(reading comprehension)
-understand words and expressions about
himself/herself and his/her local environment
when the interlocutor is speaking slowly
