-write texts in different journalistic genres and apply process writing.
-write web texts and texts for social media and adapt your language and your communicative strategies to varying communication situations.
-search for information and use various sources in writing.
-identify various language deficiencies and analyze their causes.
-has an understanding of linguistic challenges within the Swedish-language media landscape in Finland.
-want to work for good Swedish in various media products.

Learning outcomes

You show language awareness and know how oral and written communication in different media for various purposes and target groups work.

You have insight into writing and public speaking as creative processes, which require preparatory work, revision, and practice.

You differentiate text genres, and you can apply different reading strategies for different texts, critically evaluate and assimilate information.

You identify the impact reading novels have on your language skills, and the ability to widen your views literature provides you.

Course contents

Lectures given by teacher, seminars and groupwork. Written assignments, self-studies and learning outside the school environment.
