Competency aims

The aim of this course is that the students have the basic knowledge and ability needed in caring for the elderly person in institutional setting

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to know how to assess, analyze and support elderly clients' wellbeing and functional capacity.
- assess plan and implement services for chronically disadvantaged elderly people
- know how to develop evidence-based practice while applying client oriented approach.
- be able to set well-defined aims, to prioritize the interventions and evaluate the outcome
- understand the meaning of teamwork with different professions in creating a meaningful care
