Within this study unit we will focus on the
following competencies:
You acquire the tools necessary to succeed in
writing the thesis.
You know the writing process and the
prerequisites of structuring your research writing.
You know the conventions of writing style,
accuracy of English and technical
presentation.
The course supports the Seminar module.

To achieve this, you need to have a proficiency of
at least C1 in English according to the CEFR scale.

- familiarity with reading and handling academic text.
- academic writing conventions related to writing style and
form.
- familiarity with writing techniques, critique writing,
paraphrasing.
- structure of the thesis.
- principles of citation and referencing source material.
- language requirements of formal writing.

Skills - what you can do
- use source material to cite and reference in academic
writing
- demonstrate knowledge of writing requirements in
presenting a topic, motivating its significance and
presenting research aim and research questions.
- write a research proposal
- write a literature review

- you are careful to follow the norms and
conventions of academic writing to complete the thesis

Teaching and exercises in:
- writing a research proposal
- drafting an Introduction chapter
- writing a literature review, theoretical
framework
- formal academic style and grammatical form
- correcting and reviewing text
- APA referencing

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Skill level C1 in the Common European Framework of
Reference for Languages.
