Competency aims

The aim of the course is to provide skills in
analyzing especially digital channels for
distribution of travel and tourism services.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is
expected to be able to...
- understand the complexity of Travel
distribution.
- can describe the key characteristics of
distribution channels such as online travel
agents, meta-travel search sites and global
distribution systems.
- evaluate the role of sharing services in the
distribution system.
- understand concepts of mobile and smart
technology.

- The role of different intermediates, for
example, Tour operators, travel agencies, OTAs,
DMOs, Meta-search services.
- Online travel agents and global distribution
systems
- C2C services like AirBnb
- Meta-search engines
- Mobile travel services
