The aim of the course is to give the student basic
skills in business mathematics and statistics.

Learning outcomes

After course completion the student is expected

Mathlab will be held four times: you are
welcome to come ask questions, work on the
exercises, and get help. The timetable is
available
in the Mathematics compendium (part 1).

The Statistics compendium (Part II) will be
available on Itslearning when the statistics
part of
the course begins.

Attendance on the lectures and practice exams
is
warmly recommended - and for many a necessity
for
passing the course - but not mandatory.

Assessment requirements

To pass the course, each part of the course
must
be separately passed, hence you need a minimum
of 25 (of 50) points in the math exam, and a
minimum of 25 (of 50) points in the statistics
exam.
Bonus points for practice exams in mathematics
(max 4 points) will be added to mathematics
exam
points.
Bonus points for the practice exam in
statistics
(max 2 points) and points for a voluntary
statistics assignment (max 10 points) will be
added
to statistics exam points.
