Competency aims
The aim of the course is that students are able to prove basic knowledge in research methods that are specially relevant to caring and nursing and that they can apply basic research methods in their studies.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to

know and understand basic research concepts, designs, data collection and data analysis, methods with both quantitative and qualitative research approaches and with relevance in research and developmental work within caring and nursing.

read,analyze and critically review research articles, reports and thesis in Swedish, Finnish and English within caring and nursing.

understand basic principles in research ethics.
