Competency aims

The aim of the course is to give the student an understanding of the physiotherapy profession, its history and development and the importance of evidence based physiotherapy

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to have gained an understanding of the concepts of physiotherapy, as well as terminology, classification and documentation. The course focuses on professional development, ethics and the history of physiotherapy.

Course contents

Description of the physiotherapy profession, its historical development and the ethical principles.
Basic concepts, and an understanding of a human being and her health.
The process of physiotherapy and documentation
The process of research, the concept of evidence, and the ability to read and use research reports
