Competency aims

The course aims to develop professional
communication skills related to physiotherapy,
both written and spoken.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is
expected to
- be able to demonstrate lexical and
grammatical competence in written and spoken
professional contexts.
- be able to demonstrate the ability to write
effective key professional documents, including
letters, work applications & CVs.
- be able to prepare and deliver a presentation
of professional interest with effective use of
IT tools, e.g. PowerPoint.
- to be able to participate in routine customer
service interactions in English.
- have enhanced the ability to participate in
social communication in the professional
setting common to routine interactions.
- have developed his/her reading skills and
acquired essential vocabulary within the field.

The course is assessed on the basis of completed
coursework (tasks) and graded assignments.
Assessment is therefore continuous and there is no
end of course exam Attendance is compulsory.
