Competency aims

To give the student the understanding of the structure of materials and the impacts of it on its properties and performance as a design component. To be able to therefore select the best material for engineering applications.

Learning outcomes

Ability to identify limiting factors of the application environment and processing to materials selection
Ability to choose optimal material accordingly and by and financial issues in decision making
