Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected
to be able to:

Identify and discuss ethical and pedagogical
issues relating to education. / Tunnistaa

Is able to plan, implement and evaluate client
education from various perspective and in co-
operation with other nursing professionals. /
Osaa suunnitella, toteuttaa ja arvioida ohjausta
ja opetusta asiakas- ja ryhmälähtöisesti
yhteistyössä muiden asiantuntijoiden kanssa.

Can utilize the appropriate approach and
pedagogical methods according the needs of the
client/patient or group. / Osaa käyttää
tilanteeseen sopivia asiakas- ja
potilaslähtöisiä
opetus- ja ohjausmenetelmiä.

Can use various materials for client education
and also develop new materials. /Osaa käyttää
olemassaolevaa ja kehittää uutta
ohjaus ja opetusmateriaalia.

Course contents

This course contains these topics:
- pedagogic and teaching perspective
- discussion methods and counseling methods
- planning, implementing and evaluating the
process for client education situations during
the different phases of the learning process
- education of the client/ patient / personal
- evaluation of the client education process

Prerequisites and co-requisites

A completion grade/credits for the courses:
Clinical care practical training, medical and surgical practical traning and elective practical
training.
