Competency aims

In order to understand the importance of
environmental management and socio-cultural
responsibility within the field of tourism, it is
essential to understand the big picture of
sustainable tourism, hence the course starts with
an introduction to sustainable tourism. After the
introduction, the course will focus on
environmental and social impact of the tourism
industry, as well as different management tools
to manage the impacts responsibly.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected
to understand facts and frames of environmental
and social responsibility, and be aware of
current challenges within the field of
environmentally and socially sustainable tourism.
