The aim of this course is for the student to

- Develop skills needed to produce virtual events
- Understand the technical framework regarding

Course contents

This course is an introduction to virtual events
and their production. The course is an E-learning
course for cultural manager professionals and
students. It covers the types, platforms and forms
of virtual events and the experiences related to
them, the planning and producing of virtual
events, technical aspects and economics of virtual
event productions and some thoughts on the
future.

E-Learning. Readings, videos, tasks and materials
online in Moodle. No lectures, self paced.

The course is based on Vevent project which was
conducted by four universities of applied sciences
in Finland and funded by the European Union, ESF
program, from March 2021 to April 2022. In the
project, the participating universities of applied
sciences (Arcada, Humak, Metropolia, SeAMK)
conducted practical experiments on virtual event
production as well as gathered knowledge by close
discussion with the experts of XR technologies and
virtual event management.
