skills (programming, game-, graphic-, video-
design) and see how they can be applied to the
gaming industry.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is
expected to be able to work in
interdisciplinary teams, and have a picture of
the entire collaborative development process,
and be able to use problem-based thinking and
creative problem solving when creating a video
game.

Course contents

Arcada Game Jam is a course where we plan,
design and create a video game in one week. You
will work in teams and fill a role of
programmer, game designer, graphic artist,
audio designer, or other game development-
related occupation.
The game will have to include - in some form -
the keywords or theme given at the first
session.
You are free to choose the tools you use, but
Arcada will provide a Game Maker 2 license and
Adobe CC products.

NB! You get 2,5 sp per game jam. Två completed
jams will give you 5 sp, which is the limit.
You can also join online game jams (they are
valued case by case, but approximately 48h jams
= 1,25 sp, 1 week jams = 2,5 sp)
