Provide basic knowledge in operating systems and
practical skills in installation, usage and
administration of Linux computers.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected
to be aware of:

- the functionality of an operating system
- the security risks when connecting a computer to
the Internet

and be able to:

- install ad administer Linux computers
- install software
- use compilators
- configure a Linux computer by using both
graphical and text based tools
- program and use simple scripts
- establish secure datacommunication
