After completing the study unit (knowledge):
-Basic knowledge about intensive care.
-Knowledge in emergency outpatient care.

After completing the study unit (skill):
-Basic clinical competence in intensive care
-Students can independently assess one
patient's condition in an emergency situation, as
well as observing changes in vital life functions
and determining the need for care

After completion of study unit (approach):
-Have understanding of the vulnerable patient and
the relatives' situation
-Students can understand in an in-depth way
how caring science is part of the clinical
reality, with the patient's needs and
situation in the center
-Students have an ability to understand
patient safety aspects in care
-Ability to take the individual into consideration
and show empathic ability in caring

- reception and examination of the emergency
sick or injured patient on a
on-call outpatient clinic
- Intensive care
-The overall care of a patient in need of
intensive care
- multiprofessional collaboration
- the care chain: prehospital care -
on-call outpatient clinic

Prerequisites and co-requisites

To participate in the course, the student must have
completed all first, second and third year clinical
courses included approved result.
