Competency aims

The aim of the course is that midwife student
deepends in the
delivery kompetens, she knows her
responsibility in delivery care and understand
when it is question
of normal or abnormal delivery situation
-she/he has to be able to work as a midwife in
a
multiprofessional
team and knows her special knowledges in
midwifery
- she/he has to be able to motivate with
evidesnbased
knowledge
her/his decisions in actual situations.
- EU directives is fulfilled both kvalitative
and
kvantitative.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is
expected
to be able to

and take care of a woman in a abnormal deliver
situation
- midwife students can act in a
semiprofessional
team and
knows
the midwifes roll in that
- understand the midwiferys independence
- have knowledge in pain relief metods and
administration.
- be able to see and know when a delivery is
changing from
normal
to abnormal.
- have knowledge in interpreat a CTG/stan
monitor
and know
when
to have a consultation
- student will manage in unexpectated acute
situations in
midwifery
as prolapsus umbilical prolaps or
complications,
intrapartum or
postpartum hemorragie, asyclitism, placenta
retentio, VE, breech
delivery and shoulder dystocia...)

Course contents

- midwifes roll in acute cesarean section, in
vacuum extractio,
preterm labour, malpositions of fetal head,
malpresentations,
scolder dystoci, multiple delivery, uterine
rupture, obstructed
labor,
complications of third stage of labor
- personal exirsices in breech deliveries (1+4)
- simulations and laborations
-learning diary
- written examination, seminars
