Competency aims

Finnish:
The aim is to develop the students writing skills
in a professional context. The course also aims to
give the student skills to use Finnish in health
care contexts (writing documents in Finnish,
attending meetings,using texts and vocabulary).
Swedish:
The aim of the course: the student knows the basic
elements in written communication. He/she has a
linguistic knowledge and is aware of the
importance of continuous learning to improve
his/her linguistic skills.

Learning outcomes

Finnish: At the end of the course the student is
expected to have the language proficiency in
Finnish required in the civil service in bilingual
municipalities and needed to support his or her
professional development.
Swedish: At the end of the course the student is
expected to be able to use his/her mother tongue
correctly in different communication situations.
He/she is familiar with basic business
communication and can independently produce
documents related to his/her own vocational
branch. He/she is aware of the importance of life
long learning to improve his/her mother tongue.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Finnish:Prerequisite in Finnish Level B1 (Common
European Framework for Languages).
Swedish:Upper secondary school level or similar.
