Competency aims

The student continues to develop her/his
competence in contextual clinical care. The
student develops
her/his competence in the assessment and care of
the patient in critical condition within the context of critical care, anesthesia and inter-operative theater.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected
to be able to:

- verbalize, discuss and participate during
contact days in the simulation/skill development
center. Theme: main principles, responsibility of
the professional nurse when caring for clients in
the critical care/ anesthesia and operating room setting.

Course contents

An introduction to intensive care nursing. (2sp)
An introduction to anesthesia (nursing) (1sp)
An introduction to surgical scrub/circulating
nurse in the operation theatre (1sp)
Vaccination certification (1sp)

Participation during contact days in the simulation
center and a passing grade in theoretical exam are
compulsory to accomplish this course.
