The aim of the course is that student develops
competence in client education

Student practices skills of client education in
various situations and gets knowledge about
different kind of ways to do client education.

Student can make goals for different kind of
situations for client education for both
professionals and clients/patients.

At the end of the course the student is
expected
to be able to:
Identify and understand ethical and pedagogical
issues client education. / Tunnistaa ja
ymmärtää ohjaamisen eettiset ja pedagogiset

Is able to plan, do and evaluate client
education
from various perspective and in co-operation
with
other nursing professionals. / Osaa
suunnitella,
toteuttaa ja arvioida ohjausta ja opetusta
asiakas- ja ryhmälähtöisesti yhteistyössä
muiden asiantuntijoiden kanssa.

Can use in teaching situations right kind of
counseling and pedagogical methods according
the
needs of the client/patient or group. / Osaa

Can use various materials for client education

To pass the course the student should pass the
following examinations:
Examination 1
Passed practical training and assignments

Examination 2
Group assignment (written assignment), students
work in groups of 3 with a patient education
case. The group plans the patient education
situation and the case will be carried out in
simulation. The group takes in consideration
different target groups and the challenges
according to their education. This is followed
by
debriefing in small groups. In the written
assignment pedagogical literature is used. se
separate list.

Examination 3
Students participate in a class where they
educate younger students in clinical skills.
