Competency aims

The course aims to provide the student with basic
knowledge of occupational theories that explain
human occupation, daily activities; ADL, work,
play and leisure. The student acknowledges the
meaning, significance and value of activities in
different ages. The student has knowledge of the
impact meaningful activities have on a persons
health and well being. Acknowledges the
environments impact on performing activities.

The student is expected to:
- be able to account for the central activities of
human occupation in daily living: ADL, work, play
and leisure
- is able to describe how occupational therapists,
by using meaningful activities, improve, maintain
and enable participation
- have knowledge of relevant activity demands in
different stages of life
- be able to explain the real, symbolic and
cultural value of activities

Basic knowledge concerning human occupation:
activities of daily living, play, leisure and work
