Competency aims

The aim of the course is that midwife student
deepends in the
delivery kompetens, she knows her
responsibility in delivery care and understand
when it is question
of normal or abnormal delivery situation
-she/he has to be able to work as a midwife in
a
multiprofessional
team and knows her special knowledges in
midwifery

  • she/he has to be able to motivate with
    evidesnbased
    knowledge
    her/his decisions in actual situations.
  • EU directives is fulfilled both kvalitative
    and
    kvantitative.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is
expected to be able to take care of woman in
birth, fetus or the newborn in
critical situations.
Midwife student understand her responsibility
in semiprofessional team.

Course contents

  • midwifes roll in acute cesarean section, in
    vacuum extractio,
    preterm labour, malpositions of fetal head,
    malpresentations,
    scolder dystoci, multiple delivery, uterine
    rupture, obstructed
    labor,
    complications of third stage of labor
  • personal exirsices in breech deliveries (1+4)
  • simulations and laborations
    -learning diary
  • written examination, seminars

-Practical training at the delivery room (7
weeks)

Midwifery in Delivery Care, Theory Course 1,
normal
delivery

Additional information

week 37-39 work shops, skills training and
simulations at school (5 out of 15 ects and can be
taken as a separate part of the course)
